I think I can honestly say I have never related this hard to fictional characters in my life! The
three protagonists of this story seem written for me – I’m sure that won’t be everyone’s
experience, but I feel like if you’re drawn to this book, chances are good that you’ll be a
similar kind of person – one the tribe, so to speak (or coven, hehe).
The story is predictable in a good, familiar way – you know what’s going to happen, you just
don’t know how, and you’ll be eager to find out. The stories of the three women intertwine at
a skillful pace, the tension mounting in unison across the three timelines in a way that
highlights how their stories are intertwined. The descriptions are vivid and beautiful, and the
spooky moments are delightfully eerie. Honestly, I fell into this story as soon as I started
reading it and I really didn’t want to put it down. And when I finished it, I was sad – I didn’t
want it to end!
So if you’re thinking about picking this one up, I highly recommend you do. Now if you’ll
excuse me, I’m going to go potter around in my garden and talk to the bees.
