I came across this little book in a local artists’ shop, and when I say ‘little’, I mean that it’s a slim paperback barely larger than my hand and I read it all inside of half an hour! It’s a collection of five short horror stories, all in a different style. One is in fact a screenplay, rather than a story, and as it’s set in a cinema, that makes perfect sense. The stories aren’t perfect, but they are all intriguing, my particular favourites being ‘Georgy Girl’ and ‘Last Delivery’. It’s a perfect little taster collection and I look forward to reading more horror stories from Charlotte Byrne in the future!
Charlotte is a local author to my area, which is how I came across this little volume; it doesn’t appear to be available online and is an exclusive to Get Ready Artists on Rochester High Street. But you can check her out on Goodreads and find her full size offerings here.
